Addidi Business Angels is a women only angel investment club. Its purpose is to encourage women to become business angels – currently less than 5% of business angels are women.

The Club has a restricted membership (20-30 per LLP); each member commits to invest £20,000 in the Addidi Angels LLP (payable on joining). The LLP then invests the funds in small growth companies on behalf of its members, while the members decide which companies the LLP invest in.

The LLP also appoints an advisory panel to vet business plans submitted to the LLP and Addidi Holdings to undertake due diligence and administration.

Addidi Business Angels format has a number of distinct benefits over that of business angel networks, including:

• Syndication of investment so that the members are spreading their investment risk among a number of businesses.
• Providing the expertise of an experienced advisory panel who will vet business proposals before they go to members.
• Pooling members’ skills when arriving at investment decisions.
• The ability for members to become actively involved via non-executive or consultancy roles in businesses where investment is made.
• Reduced workload in respect of initial vetting of business proposals and ongoing monitoring of investee companies.
