Addidi Business Angels is a unique investment club providing successful women with the opportunity to pool their financial resources and expertise to back early-stage business ventures. It is being launched by Addidi in response to the fact that only 5% of business-angel investors in the UK are women* – meaning much of their capital and know-how is being denied to entrepreneurs (*University of Strathclyde).
The concept is simple - 100 women commit £20k each via a limited liability partnership to invest collectively in small growth businesses. An independent investment panel evaluate business proposals and Addidi will undertake all the due diligence and administration. The members retain control and have the fun of meeting the shortlisted business, making the decision to invest (or not), perhaps getting involved in investee businesses, and exploring issues and networking with fellow members.
